This short Dentek Custom Comfort Night Guard review is meant to give you the core information you need to make an educated decision as to which night guard is best for you or a loved one.

Okay, let's get to it.

This mouth guard really is an excellent one when compared to others. However, Dentek has transformed the look of it and re-designed it. Thus, now, it is worse for TMJ or TMD (Temporomandibular joint disorder) patients or sufferers.

Accordingly, I can not recommend this one for TMJ/TMD pain relief, unless, of course, you modify it like I have referred to on my small website.

Product Specifics

This Dentek Custom Comfort guard is lighter and fits a lot looser when compared to Doctor's Night Guard, which is another popular dental night or mouth guard.

One of its "claims to fame" is that it features a nice, flat working surface to bite against, which will help prevent possible and ongoing discomfort. If it's correctly prepared, it can stop rear bites really well as I have referred to on this site. This will by itself lower the pain and provide some relief, which is obviously the point.

Also, this guard is lighter and a lot more comfortable but it might not last at all as long as other night guards. It doesn't get passing marks from me for longevity. I also don't think it's a good, multi-faceted mouth guard either.

What I mean by that foregoing statement is that it is designed only for TMJ or TMD health issues, which is important, of course. I just think the best mouth guards should be applicable as well for tension headaches, bruxism (the unconscious grinding of teeth during sleep), earaches and lastly for TMJ.

That's a failing of this product, in my view.

Overall, it's a good guard but it's not the best. It's overall well designed but certainly not perfect, in my opinion.
