Doctor's Night Guard Classic Review

Welcome to this Doctor's Night Guard Classic Review web page. I hope the info you see here will help you with your decision making regarding what is the best mouth guard to buy.

Okay, let's get to the review.

The Doctor's Night Guard Classic product is a popular product in the marketplace for those seeking a good mouth guard for resolving various dental health issues or ailments. It has nice packaging and by all appearances looks like a good product.

Let's talk about its pluses or positive elements first. No Doctor's Night Guard Classic Review would be complete without it.

It's a professionally designed mouth guard. It's obviously been designed to meet a need for those with a dental problem that can be remedied -- or at the very least -- mollified a bit. It's also supported by a good company. This mouth guard is also, by all appearances, meant to be a panacea or a multi-faceted mouth guard.

Doctor's Night Guard Classic ReviewWhat I mean by that is that it can be used for TMJ or TMD (Temporomandibular joint disorder), bruxism (unconscious grinding of the teeth at night during sleep), crepitus (jaw popping or clicking jaw -- usually a symptom of TMJ), etc.

That is a big plus for the Doctor's Night Guard Classic mouth guard product.

The problem, though, is that if falls flat in accomplishing its goal. My professional suggestion is that it be used for for teeth protection only. I wouldn't expect much if you want to use it to lessen or mitigate TMJ pain or symptoms or TMJ discomfort.

I believe that there's only a 50/50 chance that it's going to lower your TMJ-related discomfort. That's terrible for a product ostensibly designed to help remedy such dental problems. I needed to mention that in this Doctor's Night Guard Classic Review page.

Other Product Factors With The Doctor's Night Guard Classic

This mouth guard includes a non-remarkable flat-biting surface. It is better when compared to the soft football or basketball kind of night or mouth guards. Nevertheless, this mouth guard or pad is supposed to be made to protect and safeguard the teeth from grinding and to either eliminate TMJ pains or to at the least minimize them.

Another major problem I found through personal testing is that it is near impossible to mold it to your teeth and mouth. With that said, here are some useful tips that I think will help you effectively mold it for your teeth and mouth.

How to Prepare The Doctor's Night Guard Classic

Per the inistructions in the packet, put the guard in boiling water. After extracting the guard from the boiling water, and after letting it cool just enough for you to safely put it into your mouth, you then should put the inside your mouth in your top palate, or on the top teeth, and then bite down hard upon the lower palate. Bite hard yet precisely.

I mean hard. Really hard but controlled. Then, bite the lower so as to ensure that your upper teeth bite completely toward the inside bottom, hard-layer material.

Next, you want to keep the mouth guard inside your mouth for approximately three minutes or so when fitting it for your teeth. This is an important point. I know that it can be a very long time, relatively speaking, to keep it in but it will reduce distortion and imprecision with the bite. After the three minutes are over, you can now remove it from your mouth and clean it by putting it under running tap water.

Here's the secret to most mouth guards on the market.

Now, if you wish to relieve TMJ discomfort, cut the rear ends off with a pair of good, quality scissors. Cut from the point of the guard where the large molars in the back of the mouth are are formed within the guard. That provides you with the very best pain relief possible apart from my SmartGuard product.

Conclusion

This is not a bad mouth guard but it is far from ideal. Quite honestly, I recommend my SmartGuard product. (You can read more about it by clicking on the preceding link.)
