The Sleep Right Slim Comfort mouth guard is a popular product. It is part of the family of mouth guards that are made by the well respected Splintek company. They make two guards in particular, specifically, the Dura-Comfort and the Slim-Comfort.

There are some differences, though, between these two mouth guards.

Most notably, I believe the Dura-Comfort guard is much more durable and is stronger. I also have a personal preference over the Slim-Comfort product.

Let's briefly go over the reasons why.

I do like the fact that both of these mouth guards will protect your teeth from the affects of teeth grinding (clinically called bruxism). However, a failing common to most mouth guards is that it is a one dimensional mouth guard.

What do I mean by that? Well, these Splintek mouth guard products are not good choices to choose from for TMJ or TMD (Temporomandibular joint disorder) pain elimination or reduction.

However, that said, because of the different muscle contractions with changes in proprioception, it is my belief that these mouth guards can reduce your TMJ or TMD pain although not as dramatically as other professionally TMD-designed mouth guards.

To be precise, the Sleep Right Slim Comfort and the Dura-Comfort might work, but I don't think they will be the best option.

Conclusion

Overall, there are some good things about these mouth guards, to be sure. But they are not the best, in my professional opinion. If you do buy it, here's a tip that hopefully can help you. When you unwrap it, move the biting tabs forward in your mouth or toward the front of your mouth for best results.

That would be ideal.
